The Next Motor City Sketch is at Wonderwold Comics in Taylor. We have a ton of fine creatives that come to our little social network and they hail from all over the metro area, so we plan on moving MCS around to accomidate everyone and keep it fresh.

March we are heading west to Taylor where Wonderworld Comics will open their doors to our shenanigans! What a perfect way to get inspired, than to sit around in an awesome comic shop surrounded by wall to wall colorful comic books. As we are not in an establishment that serve food or beverage, please feel free to bring your own.

If anyone out there has any recommendations for futures meets, please let us know. Thanks everyone for keeping this puppy rolling and growing it bigger than we ever thought!

Motor City Sketch members and fans, come on out to the River's Edge Gallery in Wyandotte to see a new exhibit on comic book/ pop culture art featuring several local artists in the industry like Katie Cook, Jay Fosgitt and MCS regulars Bill Pulkovski, Tony Miello, Bruce Gerlach and Jay Shimko. The fine folks at Progressive had to cancel so we will NOT be meeting there, that means no demos or pizza :(

But no biggie, we will head to Tracy's Corner Cafe in Warren, MI. We Love Tracy and her coffees, teas and homemade sodas and sandwiches.

We will meet in the Bat Cave as there is live entertainment upstairs (bonus). Please come on out and inspire and be inspired!

Motor City Sketch is going to be held at Progressive Art & Framing in Clawson this month. This is a little different for us, but we are pleased to have them as a sponsor this month. They heard about us and dug what we do enough to invite us into there place, bring in some Pizza (yum) and show us some of their work and demo some of their machinery for us. This months event will be a BYOB event. (Yes you can bring Liquor in moderation of course and if you are of age)

COPIC Rocks!

I've always been a huge fan of Copic. I love there products and create allot of work with them. I am often asked to compare Copic markers to Prismacolr and I always have the same response: They are both great and can give you the same results. Although much pricier, Copic is a little smoother and will get you to your destination with less "elbow grease."

Along with many other companies, we contacted both Copic and Prismacolor to see if they had interest in sponsoring what we do in our art community and Copic were super excited to do so. They did an awesome write-up in there blog about us and sent over a ton of free pit pens and markers to give out along with stickers and literature about their products. On top of that, they sent over a Black Ink Pro Wallet to gift out to a lucky guest.

January event

January's event will be held on the 21st from 6:30pm till 10pm at Tracy's Corner Cafe in Warren. Tracys Corner Cafe (Formerly Known as The Beat Cafe) is located at 29200 Hoover, just north of 12 Mile Rd. The group will meet in the basement (to the right as you come in) and we venture up from time to time to partake in coffee, tea, sandwiches, or what have you.

This months get together is sponsored by COPIC, the best markers in the business. Copic was gracious enough to send us out some free samples, stickers and some literature. They also included one Large Prize Pack that will go home with one lucky guest.
