Draw With Da Fishes at The Belle Isle Aquarium

This month's meet up will be at the Belle Isle Aquarium on Belle Isle in Detroit. You will have the chance to draw some cool fish and other aquatic creatures in a very awesome setting!

Some things to be aware of since this is a private event in a public building:

An annual vehicle pass is required in all Michigan State Parks. They are gradually phasing this in. If your birthday has not happened yet, you are not required to have the pass at this time. There is no guard station and we have heard nothing about actual enforcement of this as of this time, but if you want to get the $11 dollar pass you can get one at the White House right by the aquarium from 9-4:30 weekdays or at any Secretary Of State.

You must be on the island by 10pm. We can stay later, but you won't be able to get on after that.

Bring your own drinks and/or food. All alcohol must be consumed inside the building. Everyone will be responsible for cleaning up their own mess.

Obey the posted speed limits on the island. The Michigan State Police are on the island at all times and are enforcing speed laws.

Everyone coming to the meet up will enter the building through the side handicap entrance. The front doors will be locked.

And as this is a public building one must conduct themselves with the appropriate behavior. I know that this will be a challenge with this crowd, but your cooperation will be expected.

Besides all of the Motor City Sketch peeps, the staff and volunteers of the aquarium will be invited, as well.

As most of you (all two of you!) have already figured out, we didn't have a May gathering as many of us had a very busy month with a slew of shows. So, our next meet up will be at the Motor City Art Studio in Sterling Heights. I believe that this is more of a classroom setting so bring your own beverages and/or food stuff. Oh, and bring your sketchbooks and whatnot. You know the drill.
